Corrections
We get things wrong. Regulations change, builders change, and we make mistakes. Telling us is free, open to anyone, and the correction is recorded rather than quietly applied.
Email editor@customluxuryhomebuilders.ca or use the form below. Include the page, the specific statement, what is wrong about it and a source if you have one. You do not need to be the subject of the statement or connected to us in any way.
What happens after you tell us
You tell us
Use the form below or email directly. Include the page, the specific statement, what is wrong about it and — where possible — a source we can check.
We acknowledge
Usually within one business day. Acknowledgement confirms we received it, not that we agree yet.
We check it
Against the primary source, the builder’s own records, or whichever authority actually governs the point. Where the disputed statement concerns a builder, we contact them.
We act
A confirmed factual error is corrected promptly. A statement we can support is left in place and we explain why, with the source. A statement we can no longer support is removed rather than softened.
We record it
Corrections that materially change a published fact are noted with the date and the substance of the change. The page’s last-reviewed date is updated. Nothing is edited silently.
How different requests are handled
Being explicit about this matters more than it might seem. A corrections policy that quietly removes anything a subject objects to is not a corrections policy — it is a takedown queue, and it makes every published assessment worthless.
| Type of request | Example | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| A factual error about a builder | Wrong founding year, wrong service area, wrong warranty provider, a project misattributed, an award we listed that was not awarded. | Corrected promptly once verified. Where the error was material, the change is recorded with its date. |
| An outdated regulatory statement | A permit requirement, warranty period, code provision or regulator name that has changed since we published. | Corrected, the source re-consulted, and the page’s last-reviewed date updated. |
| A disputed editorial judgement | Disagreement with an assessment, a ranking position, or the characterisation of a builder’s work. | We will read it and respond, and we may revise. We do not remove an assessment merely because its subject disagrees — that would make every assessment worthless. |
| A request to remove an accurate statement | A request to take down something that is true and properly sourced. | Declined, with an explanation. Accurate published facts are not removed on request, including from sponsors. |
| A request to be removed entirely | A builder asking that their profile come down. | We will discuss it. A profile is not published against a builder’s wishes in the normal case, and non-participation is recorded rather than punished. |
Tell us what is wrong
The more specific you are, the faster it gets fixed. A URL and the exact sentence is ideal.

Questions about corrections
Who can request a correction?
Anyone. You do not need to be the builder concerned, a client, or connected to the site in any way. If you spot something wrong, tell us.
How quickly are corrections made?
A clear factual error with a checkable source is usually corrected within a business day or two. Anything requiring us to contact a builder or an authority takes longer, and we will tell you where it stands rather than leaving you without an answer.
Will you remove a negative statement about my company?
If it is inaccurate, yes, immediately. If it is accurate and properly sourced, no — and being a sponsor makes no difference to that answer. If it is an editorial judgement you disagree with, we will read your argument seriously and may revise, but disagreement alone is not grounds for removal.
Do you publish a list of corrections?
Corrections that materially change a published fact are recorded with the date and the substance of the change, and pages carry their last-reviewed date. We do not silently edit and re-publish as though the earlier version never existed.
What if I think a builder should not be listed at all?
Tell us why, with whatever evidence you have. Substantiated concerns about licensing, warranty standing, or a pattern of client complaint trigger a review of the selection, and positions can and do change on review.
Our editorial standards set out what we will and will not publish, and the selection methodology explains how rankings are made and reviewed.
Accuracy is the whole product.
A directory nobody can trust is worth nothing regardless of how it looks. If something here is wrong, telling us is the single most useful thing you can do.
